I've re-enabled my Coh/Cov account

Given WoW a bit of a break. Not a hell of a lot for me to do atm. I'm still running the arena team of a Sunday. But other than that, not a lot for me to do. Will probably go back to more hours in WoW, once there's something for me to do besides farm gold/honor (for the sake of just farming gold/honor).

So I decided to go check out how CoH is going.

I discovered there's a whole range of stuff I can now farm :)

I've set myself a goal to see if I can farm enough stuff to get perma hasten like the glory days :)

In issue9 (I think) they brought out crafting. So now you can craft stuff which give bonuses that go above the post-ED calculations.

Ok, finally done it.

They said it wasn't possible.
They said it couldn't be done.
They said I was dreaming.

Golden Rock now has perma-hasten. See screenie of hasten buff refreshing. The double buff lasts <1sec, and double buff only occurs when you zone during the buff. On normal play, the refresh removes the existing buff before refresh of the buff.

Only took 9 months of farming.

(The irony of the fact that I have more perma-recharge buffs than what hasten provides is not lost on me :). Hasten = 70%, recharge buff I have through item bonuses without hasten = 111.25%)

Eh I don't get it, you don't really have perma-haste if your abusing a bug :S

Nah, its the only way I can demonstrate that I have perma haste in a screenie :)

When playing the game, the power refreshes in time for it to be perma - but when NOT doing the zone trick, it clears the previous value (before it's time) before new value is applied. So visually, it goes 70 -> 0 -> 70, so I can't really take a screenie of theat - there' s no bragging rights in that.

2) There's now an additional realm-wide event (Rikti ship Raid - an actual purpose for the Riki Crash site zone) More fun than a Hamidon raid

4) Offline progression - Day Jobs, minor thing, but a nice touch

Sounds good, might have to check it out soon :)
As for player generated stuff - not actually a first - You can do that in Saga of Ryzom I believe.

Issue 14: Architect. Sounds interesting. I'd expect some wheat amongst the chaff. If I had more free time, I'd resub to check it out. Must be upwards of 2 years since I played CoX.
More alts than you can beat with dual wielded Thrash Blades.

I got my 57 month subscription award last week ;)

I'm all but done with the game now. I've taken both a hero and a villain to 50 with my weekly semi-RP group (turns out I've been playing with them for 4 years next week o_O) but they're going to do a second hero group and after 5 years of CoX I just can't handle it anymore.

Then again I'm pretty much sick of MMOs in general at the moment which definitely contributed (I unsubbed from WAR in Feb).
