Spam posts and YOU!

When spam is posted, please do not post in it. Doing so makes the moderators jobs that little bit harder than it needs to be as they have to delete your post AND the spam. Our forums have spam filters and you must be a registered user to post however the occational spam will get through.

Just don't click on any links within them and the moderator will come along and clean it up. Generally they will be removed within an hour of being posted so you need not bother notifying anyone. Thanks for your help!

yo, in phpbb you can actually delete the thread which will delete all posts under it :D

also as mentioned b4 might want to put the email confirmation thing in it will simply Stop them posting all together, or the use of captcha image when registering. the mods are easy to install and secure ( standard mods)

that is still more than clicking the delete button once AND it doesn't bump the thread. AFAIK we are already using image confirmation... I'll look at email confirmation.

Found it.

The file download is dead there ( they redesigning the site) so the proper download can be found below.

Let me know if you need a hand installing it, pretty easy should only take a few mins, read the txt file in the zip for instructions

As a mod, can't you just hit "delete topic"? IIRC, it's the same amount of work:

[Delete topic] > Are you sure you want to delete this topic? [Yes] [No]

[Delete post] > Are you sure you want to delete this post? [Yes] [No]

Both take the same amount of clicky clicky, unless I'm missing something?

Oh.. do you mean in necroed threads/existing threads?

I thought you meant in brand new, stand-alone, shiny spam threads.

Yeah, getting rid of spam in a thread that you can't just nuke.. that's annoying.
