Wireless modem router

Hello boys,

I have to buy a new wireless modem router. I currently use BoB Lite in my study and the wireless reception is crappy when it gets to the lounge room, where my wireless media player and Apple TV are.

Can you please recommend a good wireless router with built in modem?

I have read reviews but not sure if the routers have built in modems. Dual band seems to be the way with n or even ac.

For example these modems, do they have built-in modems? Are they good?

I don't think any of those have a modem.

I have a netcomm one that my ISP provided, hate it haha. Only advice is that I'd avoid them, their customer support is dreadful too. I'd get a 2 or 3 channel one, at my parents house I think I got them a 3 channel D-Link one that does the job perfectly, no idea what model etc, it was in the mid hundreds when I bought it though.

I've generally read good things about Billion (and have used my own for about 3-4 years with no problems)

I've had my Billion 7300N for a year or so now, haven't had any drama's (other than the phone line in my new house being crap, so dropouts are common - not much the router can do about that though).

Chiming in for Billion as well, I have a 7800N that I've been using for well over a year now and is a solid modem/router.

I hear you boys and everyone I asked told me Billion is great. I also read great reviews about the Billion 7800n.

However, I still have a sticking point. Am I setting myself back, buying a 2 year old modem who doesn't have the dual band 5GHZ channel? By that I mean, will it be outdated soon after I buy it?

I bought the Netgear N600. Hopefully, I won't kick myself. I bought it at JB Higi with a camera a 3 TB external HD Seagate backup plus and got some good prices (matching net). They didn't have Billion ... Too hard ...

Done ... No more reading reviews. All I need to do is set them up.

New modem is not more powerful than old one. I still have issue with connectivity (only 1 bar) in my living room ... gg

Must be because it is Netgear, lol

Back to plan A, which was to get a network cable installed between the 2 rooms from under the house.

OR

Plan B, buy a Wireless booster
