Factions!

What faction is everyone thinking of playing?

I'm joining real life friends who are more than likely going to be playing Ebonheart Pact, but I don't know if that's set in stone yet.
Guild Wars2 - Beothel (Sylvari Ranger), Ailtrai (Human Engi))
SW:TOR - Beothel (Sith Marauder), Illusia (Chiss Sniper)
LoTRO - Beothel (Human Lore-Master)
WAR - Beothel (Chaos Marauder)

I really like the cross faction guild capabilities, somewhats mirrors the guilds in the lore.

Trade, chat, shop are all shared from what I read. About the only thing would be you can't have your alts of different alliances in the same campaign.

Actually after typing that it then sounds bad for PvP, can't have guildies scouting in enemy and chatting back.
- Quick search and all I can find is a guild affiliates with an Alliance for a campaign. I wounder if thats on a per campaign basis. No mention of what happens to guild chat between members of different alliance whilst in pvp zone.

Unless of course my first point of cross alliance chat if flawed (but I assume the @Account name of guild chat was related directly to cross alliance issues)

I'm trying to decide between EP and DC (I like Dunmer and Bretons) but haven't quite decided yet.

Truth be told, I'll probably end up joining whichever alliance the majority of the guild joins. I tried out all 3 and enjoyed them all, so it's a hard choice.

I'm the same as Aelwen, I played a Breton Sorc but I'm happy to follow the majority choice.

As mentioned in another post I don't even recall selecting a side or a server.

Normally games ask you to pick a side then show you the race/class available for that side then once the character is created you see server options.

In this game I just picked Breton Sorc and then it through me in the game.

Alliance Poll / faction discussion

I merged the previous topic in to a poll.

Vote for the Alliance that you are looking to join.

Only a week to go for early access!

Wastey :D

edit: I'm planning to go Aldmeri Dominion but am playing as an Imperial, they seem like an mercenary kill for the highest bidder sorta faction.

Leo, here is what I found on Whirlpool forums if you're interested.

Some of our members are joining TKG (The Kelly Gang) for PvP (well I know Secro and Kash are) and I will probably follow.
A Southern Cross alliance with The Kelly Gang sounds like a good synergy :D

It needs a good spread of players across Alliances, so far seems to be that way for these megaservers to work.

Updated 20/3 for guild so reposting here for anyone looking for guilds/factions.

Once again, don't take these as being 100% correct!

Hi Wastey, thx for that but the "don't take this to be 100% correct" line is a problem.

Are we sure TKG are going Dominion?

I'm fine going whatever but it would be frustrating if they only placed that there only to change it on launch day or something.

Still need to know what server I am supposed to select.

I bought the Imperial Edition so that means I can still play Breton Sorc even if I select Dominion side right?

Yeah Pre-order can do any race, if we have a few ye old SC's in TKG, I would like to align where TKG goes :p

I see TOG currently have a vote in front for AD as well.

Well it looks like the AD has it. Will probably roll a Breton Templar then (since I somehow doubt a Dunmer would join the AD :P).

Early access times revealed...

North America (East): 7:00 AM EDT, Sunday March 30th–
UK/IE: 12:00 PM WEST, Sunday March 30th–
Central Europe: 1:00 PM CEST, Sunday March 30th–
Sydney, Australia: 10:00 PM AEDT, Sunday March 30th–
Singapore: 7:00 PM SGT, Sunday March 30th –

Does that seem right? I thought we were roughly 12 hours ahead of US East Time, which means our release time should be roughly Saturday night 7pm.

A release 10pm on a Sunday night when people have to go to work/uni/school the next morning seems a bit odd.

Hi Usambara, the way I understand what we are planning (and I could be wrong) is that we will form Southern Cross just as a chat channel to help each other out with
gear/crafting/potion and so forth and the odd 4 man - 12 man content.

However we would also apply to join TKG since we can be in up to five guilds.

So there would be no alliance, as I see it, you can run around with the SC tag over your head or TKG tag and more than likely those who go into PVP end game
would just flip on the TKG tag and join their warband.

That's what I think we are doing from my understanding. If you need gear/potions/food/ whatever you can flip on the SC tag and say "anyone got any insertwhatyouneed"
and then the SC guild folk would see that in the SC guild chat but those in only TKG would not see it.

Yeah I don't think the yanks give a flying toss about when the game starts in our Time zone, Game starts 7am EDT US time.
Which I think is a bit unusual, as I would normally expect a wee hours start, so the servers have slightly less load (a minority won't get up at 2am to start playing, which would typically be more our prime time)

EST to AEST is +15 hours (or -15 hours, depends on your frame of reference)

Make sure to note these are both DST times for both the States and AU
The game starts at
9pm AEST (Brissy, you know you wanna live here)
10pm AEDT (Australian Eastern "Dumb arse southerners" Time)

Of course I didn't do imperials so I start 9pm Tuesday night.. ho hum.

Yes that's right. New Yorkers can wake up at 7am and enjoy a full day of ESO while Australians are playing in their pyjamas drinking coffee. :x

the way guilds work btw, is sort of like guild wars 2, but you can acess all 5 at the same time, so in chat you would use Guild1 for your main guild, and Guild2/3/4/5 for others, theres no need to un-represent / swap over, etc

i imagine some enterprising people will make a PVP alliance guild that has 1 guild chat for all of the factions officers for example

and like a giant trade chat one

possibilities
