Spoiler free first impressions!

Overall for me... big thumbs up!

Pros:
  • Lag felt a lot less than beta (tho i did die once to my pc freezing/pausing which was pretty consistant throughout the last 2hrs of my play  )
  • I find Monk a lot of fun, combat feels fast and responsive, I think the skill unlocks lvl 1-15 are much better variety than they were in the beta i played in feb/marchish.
  • All the extra lore books etc helped flesh out the beta content much more nicely, I also had a really nice den of the fallen spawn.
  • Opinion on areas past the beta content varies, but the difficulty level felt much better almost immediately into the new zones, combat was fun.
  • Once combat wasnt a cake walk followers seemed to work nicely

Cons:
  • sfa Diablo atmosphere/feel to the story during gameplay imo
  • I could be wrong but there didn't seem to be many music tracks for act 1, same 2 songs seemed to prominently repeat
  • The story telling. No need to go into a rant, but some bits are super weak. A lot of people complained about SC2 story, I wasn't one of them... so yeah.
  • low level itemization is dull as
  • nightmarish boss modifier is about as cool as it sounded

So overall: Act 1 gameplay exceeded expectations, atmosphere/story... met expectations but i was hoping it would be a lot better. End of Act cinematic shiny as hell tho.

You've put way more thought into it than me, Spotto.

Great game, although I'm still a total noob. I didn't do betas, so it's been 10 years since I've played a game like it, but it's not rocket science.

Big shout out to Raisty for letting me tag along, double DHs ftw! Nothing like painting the floor with caltrops, hehe.

Now to keep my altaholism at bay....mmm, wizard...

I was impressed with the environment variation through act 1 and some of the way into act 2.

I'll need to go through the battle tag list tonight and start adding people lol

Deman, Waz, Mooney (for a bit) and I were tearing the game up though :D

So fun just storming through the monsters and bits and pieces of them flying everywhere.

Kinda jealous of Demans big bell attack though... lol

Theres like a 1 minute cooldown to resummon your dogs when you blow them up..how is that useful?

Or did you use the talent that has a chance to spawn dogs when they die?

D3 is growing on me, at 1st I thought the graphics looked like my crayon drawings back from when I was 5 even on maxed settings and I failed to see the purpose of the game. After playing for a little over 3hrs I still thinks it looks like crap and I'm not sure there's much depth to the story, but I'm getting hooked on grabbing as many mobs as I can and stomping through them while aoeing like a roid infused tard. I love the epic loots, very addictive.

A good game to sit back and smash everything you see while listening to some tunes or secros voice on vent, whichever floats ur boat best. It is kind of a good break from the intensity of pvp and fps.

I asked a popular writer who often wrote about freedom and free markets and asked him what he thought would be the True symbol of 'freedom'.
He answered succinctly:

"Whatever is the opposite of surrender"

Demon dogs have a cooldown from once they are summoned, so summoning them and blowing them up right away is usually silly

my set up atm

Demon Dogs - Specced to drop health orbs on death
Sacrifice - Blows up dogs, Spec - Has a chance to bring a dog back to life when dog dies
Passive - Can summon 4 dogs at once and they have +20% health
Passive - Mobs have 5% chance to summon a zombie dog on death

there will be downtime, but you can usually chain explosions together, which rapes

i can do this at level 24 i beleive
