Anyone regret buying this game ???

Post by vsia » 30 Dec 2004, 07:19

Ill i always thought this game would be more fun then diablo 2 and frozen throne combined but i find it rather boring compared to Blizzards past games , maybe me expectations were too high , yes it is fun , but idont see my self playing it for no more than a year OR do i see my self starting again !!!!

For 90 bucks and 20 dollars a month and the fact that i stole my mothers credit card to log on because the damn shops didnt have the scratchy card thingy , i dunno im not so sure if i shoulda gotten it.

Oh yeah its my HSC year :(

Hehe i've never had as much fun playing a game in recent memory. And Im quite sure I'll still be exploring the world in a years time. And paying more money for the expansion packs just to reach lvl 70.

Then again, I'm a big RPG fan, and people who are more into rts (and diablo 2 struck me as more of an action game than rpg) might not enjoy wow as much.

I don't regret it at all! The game is heaps of fun, as long as you like both 3rd person games and RPGs.

CoH still tops WoW for me, but that may change as I play WoW more.

MMO's arn't for everyone, i knew this would happen alot because WoW is more appealing MMO to those who havn't played them before. It's hard to make an 'action MMO' whilst you have 10k+ people in the world with you.

Anyway, it's the best MMO i have played out of the 5 or so i got. Early AO was fun, but this pwns it :P Basically what makes an MMO is the people you play it with, thats why i'm happy SC branched into WoW !

I regret buying WoW because I never get enough sleep anymore.

CoH would be my second favourite MMORPG after WoW. Of course, I have fond memories of Anarchy Online too, because it was my first. You never forget your first. ;)

I regret nothing!

WoW is probably the best PvE MMO I've played to date I'm still waiting to see if it can top DAoC for PvP :)

If you're looking for an action MMO check out Guild Wars. It still hasn't been released but you should be able to have a go at the Beta come Jan 7. It's actually being done by some former blizzard guys and has no monthly subscription fee.

But yeah I'm loving WoW :)

I agree, you never forget your first one lol, mine was Earth & Beyond, sadly put to rest by EA Games, the bastards. I had some golden times there, and I never did reach level 150 :( I think I got to like 137 or something .. then they shut it down. I would still go back if it came up again, although the shocking graphics (by todays standards) would probably deter me, that game had 'something' the little thing that makes it awesome, dunno what it was, but I have yet to find a game that has the same something, except WoW, which is very close :) mebe I'll find the something when I get a bit higher level ^^

"me: you guys selling the world of warcraft game cards"
"EBminion 1: oh, don't ask *insert cheesey grin here*
"me: so thats a no then?"
"EBminion 1: fraid so"
"me: when can you expect them to come in? if at all?"
"EBminion 2: well, we got like 50 when the game was released, then.. yeah"
"me: that sucks"
"EBminion 1: basically our suppliers are being drip feed by blizzard"
"me: asses"

<continue for a few minutes>

so i too, stole a credit card and used that :P luckily for me, part of my xmas present was money for the cards, so by proxy, this should still work without invoking the parentals wrath :D

My only regrets are similar to someone above - sleep pattern down the drain.

This is my first MMORPG, and i am loving it, even with a computer that has had problems with it at times.

WoW Rocks!! 8)

I just spent an hour getting from Auberdine to Stormwind.
At lvl 13 it's kinda scary but it was the best hour I have had in a game for a long time.

I just love the the Gryphs :)
