Re: digital cameras

I have a casio EX-S770. Picked it up two years ago, a little bit more pricey than the usual $250 stuff but good quality photos with a huge screen and small footprint. I love it :)

Re: NAS suggestions?

I used to think old PCs were the best thing for file servers, but between the noise and power drain have convinced me otherwise. At some point I plan to combine my file server and MythTV boxen into a single tower, and hide it in a cupboard. Then use a mac mini or similar silent machine for the front...

Re: Port Forwarding Issue

non-NAT'd acces to the 'net FTW. only if you like running software firewalls, which I don't :P You basically need two separate guides simon. One to set a static IP (my guess is that for you, 192.168.1.1 is both gateway and DNS), another to set up port forwarding (although once you have a static IP,...

Re: Good small business web hosting?

I keep hearing good things about bluehost, but I'm not sure that they offer a JSP server out of the box. They are apparently using apache servers, and you get ssh access, not that any of that guarantees anything... only reason I mention them is that they're fairly cheap and damn good value for money...

That, and I've heard it is impossible to die. After reading the reviews I'm glad I didn't rush out to buy it, but I probably will grab it eventually. I loves me prince of persia :)

Shame, there hasn't been a good NFS since most wanted. Guess I'll just borrow a copy then.

Re: World Tour

My copy of chrono trigger just shipped from canada :D

Screw waiting for february or whenever it's coming. I won't finish my other games before it gets here, but that's fine... I have 2 weeks holiday coming up and absolutely zero plans ;)

Re: Dell Laptop CPU

powersaving mode is a good thing - it might only run at 800mhz when idle, but boot up a game and it'll crank back to 2ghz. This not only saves power, it stops the laptop from overheating when you don't need all that speed :P

Re: World Tour

I've been too slack to buy any new wii games, much like I'm too slack to post on the forum ;)

No more heroes, okami, de blob, wario... those are just off the top of my head. Plenty of good games available. Mostly I'm playing through FF4 and FFTA2 on the DS.

Re: World Tour

Finished the new york gig tonight and there's a nice surprise after the credits. Haven't quite finished that, wonder if there are more surprises... If anyone cares - there's nothing after the post-credits gig. Unless you count xbox achievement points, pity I'm not playing on MJ's xbox account becau...

Re: Wild storm

Our street flooded for an hour or two, apparently one of the storm drains became a fountain (we all slept through it lol)

Stopped at our top step, yay for not living at ground level. Flatmate's car had a high water line about halfway up his car :(
