Re: Virus Protection

Normally i'm pretty conscious of what web sites I go to, just had a silly lapse of judgement while looking for something. Come to mention it, I do recall the Java console pop up briefly but didn't really think much of it. I used Malwarebytes to clean up the computer, seems to have done the job, did ...

Virus Protection

So I was checking out some site tonight and picked up a pretty painful piece of malware called Antivir Solution Pro. Managed to clean it up by looking for solutions on my iPhone. Only thing that annoys me is it managed to get on while Microsoft Security Essentials was running. Really makes me feel s...

Re: iPhone help

ahh cheers maed. Ill keep that aside for future reference if I get into trouble again. I tried many programs that claim to be freeware but will actually only let you browse files unless you pay for it. Somewhere between trying many of these programs tho, it actually synced my iphone and wiped the me...

iPhone help

One more topic i'm needing some help on. Stupidly I didn't back up my iTunes library before formatting the PC, so now I can't sync up my iPhone without losing all my music. Does anyone know of any methods or freeware where I can copy all the music to my computer first before I sync the phone to iTun...

Re: Windows 7 help

Funny thing was that I checked the device manager and it wasn't showing any "!" icons.

Strange thing was I decided to give the CD one more go before going to bed and it worked, no idea what I did haha.

Windows 7 help

Just looking for some advice. Just got around to upgrading my Win7 x64 RC to an OEM copy of Professional. Having troubles running the driver CD for the Asus P6T mobo. Can't really find much on the net, PC seems to be running fine but it concerns me that I haven't personally installed the drivers. Th...

Saw this on Mythbusters the other day, I knew Helium makes your voice go high pitched, didn't realise it works in the opposite.

Re: Windows 7 RC

Yeh i've got the RealTek drivers installed but that didn't seem to make much of a difference. I'm pretty sure that were installed to begin with but I updated them anyways. Found a 'fix' on the net. Just set the headphones to default sound...that way whenever I plug them in all sound goes to them, bu...

Re: Windows 7 RC

Yeh I found the culprit, it was going into sleep mode after 30mins of inactivity. Just switched that to never. Got another issue now (sorry for the bombardment, gone from XP to W7 so its all new to me) When I plug in my headphones to play WoW and/or go on Ventrilo, my sound still comes through the s...

Re: Windows 7 RC

Bumping to ask a question. Saves making a new thread...started downloaded the WoW client coz I got my new PC going...problem is when I left it on to download while I was at work, it turned itself off in some sort of power saving feature (when I hit the power to turn it back on it went straight to th...

Re: Windows 7 RC

Just reviving the thread to get a quick answer. Downloaded Windows 7 RC 64bit in preparation for a new build. Downloaded the 32bit version aswell for a friend in case he wanted to try it aswell. I was under the impression you can install it onto a fresh machine with no OS on it at all. Friend mentio...

Re: Budget PC

Yeh ok, ill give that some thought, the thing that almost caught me out was on that page it has Kingston 6G (3x2G) listed in the description, but if you click the memory button at the top of the page it has Corsair 3G (3x1G) listed, I should ask them which one it actually comes with. Figured if its ...

Re: Budget PC

Yeh, I just calculated it all separately and it came to $1696 so I think i'll go down that path. I didnt mention Windows 7 coz most places I have checked, if you buy Vista you get a coupon for a free upgrade to Windows 7. I was originally looking at a Antec Sonata case which comes with a 500W PSU wh...
